When the sphere switches on, it looks like Lyle's the latest to be hit by the no-holds-barred anomaly extravaganza that's going on at the moment - so, dear Crucible passengers, you currently have a twelve-year-old on your hands who looks about 3 parts lost and uncertain and one part unimpressed.

[He folds his arms, the sleeves of his oversized top having been rolled up so he can use his hands better. He's also looking a lot more nervous now that he's not getting a response.] Come on, guys, you can come out now!

[stifles a bit of laughter before turning the Sphere on to reply. he remembers those glimpses of Lyle's past, so the name "Amy" rings a bell, but seeing the 'real' younger version of his friend is amusing, and though he wouldn't admit it openly, cute. must be the female side of him talking there.]

Yeah, I am. Have you seen them? They kind of look like me. [Well, Neil looks a lot like him...]

[lets out a breath] You know, I haven't, but you shouldn't be by yourself, not when things around here are going all barmy.

You can call me the Doctor, by the way, just so we get that whole no talking to strangers thing out of the way because I'm no longer a stranger once you have my name!

Everything from the bit where we're on some sort of ship to the bit where loads of dangerous stuff happens.

That's a lot of stuff to be a doctor of, no one could learn all of that.

Well...that part's true. Have a look outside the nearest window if you don't believe we're in space for one thing. It may not seem dangerous right at this very moment, but I will tell you I've encountered wild wolves on the stairwells.

[doesn't catch that first part; is noticing the red flowers on the ground wherever he goes and even onto the transportation pad! interesting.]

[ah if he were a little Lyle, where would he be? the transporter stops on Level 20 and he continues on his merry way, strolling straight past his own suite until he reaches Lyle and Anew's.]

[By now he knows how the doors work and opens it when he hears the Doctor knocking.]

Aww, you're adorable! [scoops Lyle up into a bear hug! and sets him down a moment later.]

[He's a little nonplussed by the way the Doctor acts so larger-than-life. But then she's kind of already proved she's a genius, so maybe it's just part of how she acts. Geniuses tend to act weirder than normal people, right?]

[pats his head and makes for the kitchen!] Ahh, you do have a kettle, yes?

So, tell me about your family. What are your brother and sister like?

Well, my sister's younger than me. She's a little annoying sometimes, but Mum says that she's just going through a phase. [He shrugs] And everyone likes Neil.
