[Well, some time during his previous wanderings in the forest Lyle happened to come across a dagger and he's now sitting pretty in some get-up that looks a little like this. He's also since discovered that he's suddenly a lot more agile - which explains why he's now sitting comfortably in the branches of one of the trees.

... or at least, he was until a group of archers suddenly started shooting at him, almost making him tumble from the tree in surprise. And they don't look very friendly.]

What the hell--?!

[okay, better plan. He'll just be shimmying down this tree really fast now and running away, with the sphere happily recording every detail of this misadventure. There is no shame in running from a group of archers when you are one man with a dagger!]

Okay, the running from people I've done before, but they didn't have arrows. [As if to illustrate his point, one of the aforementioned arrows whooshes over his right shoulder. Yep, he'll just be running until he finds a place to lose them or he finds something in these new clothes that'll help him get out of this situation!]

[Lyle does indeed look over his shoulder and spots the parade]

... well that's something you don't see every day.

[He grins over at him but fails to notice the tree in front of him stopped as he promptly walks right into it and falls on his ass.]

Ow! Could you give a little warning next time, please.

[The tree twists around a little and makes a shushing noise before pointing to a meadow of some sort with a little pond that interrupted a river. Nothing seems to be going on so he looks over at Lyle in bewilderment as the other trees gather along the treeline.]

[looks at Neil and shrugs, whispering]

I guess we just watch now and see what happens.

[Staying as still as he can, he watches intently when something small and bright catches his attention. Then more of the same small somethings come into view and once they get towards the center of the meadow, their figures become apparent as he realizes they've been led to see a bunch of fairies.]

...I think so, unless we're imagining all this.

[reaches over to pinch his arm] So, are you?

Hey! [pauses and rubs where he had been pinched for a moment] So we can rule this out being a dream or my imagination.

Huh... it's not your imagination, is it?

[swats his hand away, laughing] Get lost.

You sure you want me to do that? [grinning broadly]

Oh, shut it. [grinning back - as one of the fairies in the distances motions towards them and starts flying in their direction, curious as to what all the disturbance is]

[Ohshit, busted. And they can't blend in like their suddenly motionless tree friends either.]

Hey, Lyle. One of them is coming over here.

[The fairy comes closer until it's about half a metre away and just... watches them for a bit, as if it's curious as to what they're going to do]

Er... hi? [waves with a sheepish grin]

[the fairy seems surprised at that and flies back a distance to hide behind one of the tree people, peeking out from behind it]

I think you scared it, Neil. [calls to it, feeling a liiiitle silly] Hey, you can come out. We're not going to hurt you.

[fffffff, putting hands down at either side]

Honest, I didn't mean anything but to say hello.

[the fairy seems to consider this for a second, head cocked to the side, before it flies closer, almost directly in front of Neil's face, and waves experimentally]

[he smiles gently at it, making sure to keep his voice down]

[The fairy smiles at him and turns to wave its fellows over, indicating that neither of them are a threat. Pretty soon there's a whole crowd of them fluttering around their heads]

Huh. Quite a friendly bunch, these supernatural creatures, aren't they?
